My name is Lyla Weatherburn

I grew up in London, however I am currently studying photography at Leeds Arts University.

My interest in photography began when I started to shoot 35mm black and white film photographs of the Barbican centre. I thus discovered my love for brutalist architecture so, I continued to shoot other brutal buildings around London.

I then wanted to try out colour film photography. I did just this through documenting everyday people in London. I went out to Trafalgar Square during the Queens 70th Jubilee in 2022 and documented the people celebrating. I started to enjoy documenting people and so started street photography.

I have also started an interest in shooting dancers, in which I have shot dancers for a ballet school.
